Great Britain bobsleigh team Will Golder and Kevan Crowell have moved up to 30th in the Europa Cup.
In their final race of the year the Jersey Bobsleigh Club members placed 17th out of 20 finishers to rack up 27 points in the sixth round at Altenberg.
The team had earlier this week expressed concern about how they would get on at the brutal track, which they said is often referred to as "Altensmash".
But afterwards Golder said: "Considering all the hype leading up to our arrival here, about how this track is the hardest in the world, training went very, very well. The track is not comparable to any I have driven before with every corner different and requiring very different steering techniques.
After a really successful week's training we just had the race left to prove that we could do everything we had done in training with the pressure of the race on our shoulders.
Our first run was my best drive down this track so far. My drive was not as good on our second run but we finished 17th which is our best result of the season and gives us lots of ranking points."
The team, who are sponsored by Camerons, will return to Jersey for the Christmas holidays before heading back out to Cesana in Italy for the next race in January.
