The Jersey Archive Centre
This project utilised a revolutionary way of maintaining the repository temperature and humidity without the use of mechanical means, ie. air conditioning.
The project consisted of;
Firstly, stabilisation of the perimeter rockface as the site was in an old quarry, this included mesh catching structures, rock bolting and shoring.
Secondly; the construction of a two storey public reception area including plant rooms and service distribution point. A main two storey building comprising of public areas, archive research areas, administrative offices and staff facilities. A four storey repository block for archive storage with a link staircase and lift.
Finally, extensive external works etc.
